'This is better than Tyson vs Paul'

What a game
- Guy Oldring

Ever wanted to know what exciting messages are shared between the Cheltenham Men's chat on game day? Under normal circumstances the answer is absolutely not - but bare with me and I promise only PG content...

Due to an injury sustained vs Reading, Max Biddlestone was a last minute DNS for Saturday's game - meaning he was perfectly primed to report the game live to the Whatsapp group and save me having to make any effort with this match report besides a little copy and paste.

Halfway through Q1
1-1
Curtis just scored a solo drive from Open
(Bristol goal a bit scrappy)

Even match? I think so. On size no but our defence are definitely dealing with their O. I back our O. Bristol have had a couple of man downs, lost on passing butt we had one really strong look.

Some really nice explosions in our attack and big saves by Dan. Good watch so far.

GOOAAAALLL Tyler. Kieran runs off an Erin pick, redodges and draws a slide, passes to Tyler for an under arm in crease. 3-2 Cheltenham

Delightful ground ball, pick up and flag drawn by Gary.

3-3 Bristol goal on the fast break.

SNIIIIPPPERRRRRR. Big top cheddar for Tyler. 4-3 Cheltenham.

4-4 20s left in 3rd. Cheltenham beaten on alley dodge.

*This is better than Tyson vs Paul* (Thank you Kev)

Everything to play for in the 4th quarter. Will Rosie finally get the rewards for her sick moves? Will Erin topple Pete as FOGO? Tactical sub: Kieran to mid, Harry and S share load in O.

Dan follows up a big big save with a sliced clear
Let him off, he's been stellar

Goal Bristol, feed to crease, finds top corner.
5-4 to start 4th

Man down Cheltenham after offside
Goal Bristol

James Cole calls a time out to change the tide.

Lots of good attacking play at both ends, some strong pick and roll work by Cheltenham. Cheltenham slash. Man down.

DEFENDED.

**Here I'll just jump in because I was searching for the Dictionary definition of a Fast Break and I believe the next goal may be just it...**

Dan collects a scrappy ground ball, Erin is already on the clear, Dan picks her out and triggers the most text book fast break. (**told you!!)
Down the middle, pass to Kieran up top, down to Curtis, over to Rosie in on the c cut, GOOOOAAALLL

Bristol feed to crease for a goal. Slide not really there sadly. Dan just about gets it but momentum in the ball carries it over. 7-5.

This is a war of attrition. 2 subs vs 8

GOOOAAALLL Tyler. Roll dodge on the inside from X, loads of time and finishes (glad he didn't dive)

39 seconds left

Really gripping final 30 seconds, with a couple of near looks.

Sadly no joy and game ends 7-6 to Bristol. Superb game by everyone.

**Max over and out**

If you're still reading, thank you for containing your excitement as we return to normalcy and give you the hotly anticipated MoM and DoD winners. As well as the newly instated Ick of the Day.

Dod and Ick of the Day (quite the achievement there): Pete - For future reference saying 'Good Girl' to the player who has you in a headlock is likely to gain you a meeting with HR. They have been notified.

MoM: Rosie for superb movement in offense

Cheltenham Goal scorers:
Tyler 3
Curtis 2
Rosie 1

Overall a really great game and a fun learning experience for all the players involved! Already looking forward to the impending back-to-back meetings with Cardiff later in the month!

Ps. All opinions are Max's own
